Chemical Engineering Students' Society (ChESS)                                                                            

The Chemical Engineering Student’s Society (ChESS) is the organization of the students of Department of Chemical Engineering at NIT Jalandhar. The society since its inception acts as a platform in bridging the gap between the students and the faculty of the department. ChESS plays an important role in performing large number of activities during the year. One of the major activities of the society is to organize Fresher’s and Farewell functions. The Fresher’s function is very auspicious as it introduces the newly enrolled students to their seniors and faculty and in turn they get information about the department. The Farewell function is organized for the passing out students and to wish them best of luck for their future endeavour. The society arranges invited and expert lectures from the distinguished personnel from the academic and research institutes, public sector units, government organizations and industries throughout the country. This interaction improves the knowledge of the students and gives them an opportunity to learn about the latest research and developments in various areas. The society arranges various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as mock tests and quizzes in technical and non-technical categories. A large number of participation recorded in these events from the students of this institute as well as from other institutes speaks about its success. The society arranges for the academic, industrial and recreational visits in nearby areas keeping in mind the overall development of the personality of the students. The society deals in analysis and advice of the academic and personal problems of the students.

The major activities of the society during the last few years are as follows:

• The Society contributed in organizing “S-CHEMCON 2008” on September 26-27, 2008.
• TThe Society organized a cultural function "Coagulation" on October 20, 2003.
• The Chemical Engineering Society has successfully organize.All India National Level Technical Symposium "TECHEM 2K3 Cabellero's Congregation" from 5th to 7th March 2003.
• All India Student Seminar TECHEM-96 was organized in March 15-16, 1996.
• All India Student Seminar TECHEM-95 was organized in April 29,1995.
