NITJ is known for having very good and advanced laboratory facilities which are totally accessible to all students and the ECE Department has some of the best lab facilities. DIGITAL ELECTRONICS LAB

Devices & Circuits laboratory is equipped with all relevant instruments and the latest in microprocessor based technology so that an in-depth experience may be given to students in IC based technology.The instruments have been regularly updated to keep pace with the rapid industrial growth. Apart from computers the research facilities include different type of all industry standards well known Tools from reputed vendors. Both Digital as well as Analog Circuit related experiments are performed here. Students are made acquainted with the knowledge of Analog Integrated Circuits,Digital Electronics,8051 MicroController

Microware Engineering Lab is equipped with state of the art Trainer kit and Microwave components and advanced microwave equipment. Experiments concerning Microwave propagation are performed here. Communication Technology Lab

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB has been created to strengthen the facilities in the thrust area-Digital Signal Processing. The Laboratory is grown and developed in view of carrying out DSP based projects in the areas of signal Processing, Speech Signal Processing, Image Processing, Communication and Bio-Medical Signal Processing. In this regard, the Laboratory is being facilitated with adequate Hardware as well as Software support to carry out the same. VLSI LAB(under SMDP II)

VLSI LAB was established under the SMDP-II (Special Manpower Development Program Phase II) project. All IITs,IISc,NITs and some other institutes in India were chosen for this program. NIT Jalandhar is also a part of it. VLSI Design Lab in Electronics Engineering Department contains the well-established research facility in the field of VLSI design both in analog and digital domain. To support the tools, the hardware infrastructure is well established with more than 20 computers of higher end configuration. Curriculum Overview

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering offers B.Tech, M.Tech(VLSI), M.Tech(ECE) and Ph.D in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in all fields all through the courses. The curriculum puts emphasis on both theory and practical applications. The fundamentals of circuits, devices, electronics, digital and computer systems, and communication are covered thoroughly. Students gain in-depth exposure to engineering design through the advanced courses. And with the flexibility of choice of electives, they explore their specific areas of interest. Students have a wide choice amongst the specialized fields of Electronics and Communication viz. VLSI design, Wireless Communication, Embedded Systems, Optical Communication,Biomedical Signal/Image Processing and many more.

introduction to Pad2Pad Software, Designing of a circuit in Pad2Pad by instructor,
and Hands-on of designing different circuits by the participants.
Fortnightly Quiz Contest: Online Quiz Contest held after every 15 days For 1st and 2nd year students.
