Research Profile

Research Interests : Turbulent fluvial flows, bedform dynamics, flow resistance, bed morphology, the evolution of sheet flow, seepage in alluvial channels, environmental hydraulics, and hyporheic flow over fixed bedforms.
Brief Research Profile: : My doctoral research work encapsulates several aspects of open channel flows such as: sediment transport, turbulence, resistance to flow, dynamics of bed-features, seepage, sheet flow, and hyporheic flow over fixed Bedform. I have carried out experimental studies on a large tilting flume to understand these aspects of alluvial channels.
Recently, I have worked on "Yamuna River Project" funded by University of Virginia, USA and this project is oriented to rejuvenate the Yamuna in terms of livelihood and ecology. I was associated to carry out hydrological modelling of stormwater. A central focus of the hydrologic modelling is to understand the freshwater and sewage movement within the drainage system of the focus area and use this modelling framework to understand how any urban development, land use change, or alteration of the drainage network will alter these flows.
