Dr. Afzal Sikander is working as Assistant Professor with the Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Previously, he was holding the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Government Engineering College, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Graphic Era University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He received B. Tech. degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, in 2006 and M.Tech. degree from M. D. University, Rohtak, Haryana, with specialization in Instrumentation and Control Engineering in 2011. He also earned Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, with specialization in Control Engineering in 2016. Dr. Sikander has over 12 years of teaching and research experience in the diverse field of Control Engineering. His areas of interest include control theory and applications, circuit design, model order reduction, optimization, robotics and renewable energy. He is actively involved in various research projects funded by CSIR, ISRO, MHRD, etc. He has supervised ten M.Tech. students whereas four Ph.D. research scholars and two M.Tech. students are under supervision. He immensely contributed more than eighty research articles in reputed National and International journals and conferences including twenty six research papers in SCI-indexed journals. He has received best paper award from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 2014 and Best Teacher Award from NIT Jalandhar in 2021. He has organized various National/ International conferences and Technical Courses/workshops. He is also holding the position of Editors/Associated Editors of several SCOPUS indexed journals and book series of Springer. He authored various books on soft computing, Energy System Drives and Automation in Springer. |
