On October 23, 2019, “Extempore” was organized by ‘We Can’ club, the soft skills and personality development club under Training Cell of NITJ. This event was two hour long & was held in the Science Block in the evening. The students enthusiastically took part in this event.
The event was commenced by the arrival of students from various branches & year. There was a light conversation & introduction session between the students & club officers. Then the event began by random distribution of the topics to the students. Students were given individual chance to come on the stage & speak on the topic for two minutes.
The students were also properly guided about their posture & body language in between by the President & the Secretary of the club.
It was truly a mesmerizing event as the students vigorously took part in the activity. It was followed by the felicitation & prize distribution to the best speakers by Dr. Shyamkiran Kaur, Faculty Coordinator of the club. Some of the students were also given appreciation badges for their wonderful participation & for taking their first step towards being a good speaker.
Dr. Shyamkiran Kaur guided the students with her inspirational words & inspired them to do better. It was followed by a formal vote of thanks & the event concluded. The student really enjoyed a lot and dispersed with a sincere hope that such events should be organized timely as it provides platform to the students to enhance their communication skills.
Prof. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, the Director congratulated and lauded efforts of Faculty Coordinators of the club, Dr. Sonia Chawla and Dr. Shyamkiran Kaur and the club officers Hritik, Anika, Shreyasi, Harsh, Hitesh, Richa, Hrishita, Kriti, Gurkirat and Diwansha.
