On January 14, 2020, "ICE BREAKER" was organized by "We Can Club", the soft skills & personality development club under Training Cell of NITJ. This event was 2 hours long held in Science and Management Block of the campus in the evening. Students enthusiastically took part in it. The event commenced with the arrival of students from various branches of 1st year. There was a light introductory conversation between the students & the club officers. The students were told to come & select the topic on the spot then speak both in favour and against of the topic. After one minute, they were directed to switch their content from favour to against & vice versa.
Participants were properly guided about their gestures, postures & pronunciation by the club members. The Club officers come up and took part in the event with the students. The participants were highly moved by the interactive speaking skills of the club members and tried to enhance their soft skills by actively participating in the event.
It was truly a mesmerizing event. The event was followed by appreciation & prize distribution to all the participants. Dr Shyamkiran Kaur, the faculty Coordinator of the club, motivated the students by her inspirational words. It was followed by formal vote of thanks & the event concluded. The students enjoyed the event and gave positive feedback to the club. They also hoped for such events to be regularly organised in the future. The event could not be possible without the tremendous support of honourable Director, NITJ, Prof. Lalit Kumar Awasthi and Dr. Sonia Chawla, the mainstays of the club.
