In order to promote hand hygiene and minimize the transmission risk of the Covid-19 virus among the individuals, Institute in collaboration with Bharat herbals, Jalandhar developed a low-cost hand sanitizer which is herbal in nature and has more than 70% Alcohol and very effective in destroying CORONA virus. Dr. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director of Dr. B. R. Abmedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar provided 216 bottles of 100 ML each to Sh Navjot Singh Mahal, SSP, Jalandhar rural, Jalandhar in his office today.
A similar quantity of sanitizer was given to CRPF and BSF Jalandhar. Sh T L Dogra, from BSF and Mr. Kulwant Singh from CRPF, were also present on the occasion. From the institute side Prof R. K. Garg, Prof Anish Sachdeva, Prof S K Sinha, Dr S. K. Mishra, Dr Rohit Mehra, Dr S. Bajpai, Dr Sonia Chawla and Prof B S Saini were also present.
Mr Kulwant Singh on behalf of Sh. Harjinder Singh, DIG CRPF Jalandhar, and Sh T L Dogra on behalf of Sh Kuldeep Sharma, Assistant Commandant BSF expressed their gratitude, and thanks for the novel initiative taken by NIT Jalandhar for taking care of the defence persons during this pandemic.
Jalandhar Unit of Field Outreach Bureau of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India coordinated with both the para-military forces BSF and CRPF to provide them hand sanitizer through Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar. Field Publicity Officer Mr Rajesh Bali said that the initiative of NIT Jalandhar is very timely as it will help the forces as well as others in this hour of need.
