The Student’s Grievance Cell (SGC) desires to promote and maintain a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment. The Cell enables a student to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Institute. ‘Student’s Grievance Cell’ enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias”
Functions of Students Grievance Cell
To support those students who have been kept deprived of any service (s) by any functional unit of the institute and for which he / she is entitled.
Putting in efforts for making institute quick, responsive, and accountable for dealing with the students.
To ensure effective solution to the students’ grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
Redressal of Students’ Grievances to solve their academic and administrative problems.
To co-ordinate between students and Departments / Sections to redress the grievances.
To guide ways and means to the students to redress their problems.
To create harmonious educational environment.
Issues not to be entertained by SGC
Decisions of the Senate / Board of studies and other academic / administrative committees. constituted by the institute.
Decisions with regard to award of scholarships / fee concessions / awards / medals.
Decisions made by institute under the Discipline Rules and Misconduct.
Decisions of the institute in admission.
Decisions of the competent authority on assessment and examination result.
Students are expected to approach the grievance cell only if they have exhausted all the normal channels such a Warden/Chief Warden/Dean/HOD/Section Head etc. and still feel that their problem is very genuine, and it can be sorted out within the existing rules/framework of the institute. Please keep it in mind that you don’t bring unjustified and inappropriate grievances to the grievance cell. Such grievances must be sent through email with a written request accompanied with all the relevant documents/previous communication done with routine channels etc.
