ABOUT NITJ

Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and was given the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 under the aegis of Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), New Delhi. Now the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India has declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under the act of Parliament-2007.

ABOUT SRUSTI

The project aims to establish a Science & Technology Innovation(STI) Hub for technology development and dissemination. Four project coordinators:

  • Dr. Anjireddy Bhavanam,Co-Investigator
  • Dr. Nikhil G N,Co-Investigator
from multi-disciplinary research backgrounds are part of this project for the establishment of Science & Technology Innovation(STI) Hub. The hub is intended to be named as SRUSTI (Sustainable Resource Utilization through Scientific and Technological Innovation) which aims to bring holistic and sustainable technologies for the betterment of marginalized SC population.
  • SAFAL: Sustainable Agricultural Farming and Allied Learning
  • SWEEP: Solid Waste to Ecofriendly Energy Practices
  • SUCHNA: SC/ST Upliftment Center and Hub’s Networking App
  • SAMVED: SC/ST Assistance Model for Vocational and Educational Development

The objectives of the modules are given below:

SUCHNA (SC Upliftment Center and Hub’s Networking App)

  • Govt. schemes related to welfare of SC population.
  • Hub related activities like training schedule, technology developed.
  • Pre-intervention benchmarking and analytics.

SAFAL (Sustainable Agricultural Farming and Allied Learning)

  • Microalgae cultivation using wastewater to be used as Biofertilizer

SWEEP (Solid Waste to Eco-friendly Energy Technologies)

  • Agrowaste processor to produce biomass pellets from agricultural residues and gasifier stove for cooking and room heating applications.
  • Biogas production from biodegradable solid waste.

SAMVED (SC Assistance Model for vocational and educational development)

  • ICT based training
  • Technology dissemination developed under the proposed STI-HUB
  • Awareness Programs (Farmers Camp, Health Camps, Clean Energy Sensitization program)
  • To facilitate the dissemination of information by organising training, seminars, conferences, lecture series, workshops etc.
