TEAM DAKSH

Team Daksh was originated 8 years ago by a clique of students who had the notion to form the team which would give the team members a pragmatic approach towards the automotive field. Apart from studying the curriculum taught in the college, the team has put in a lot of endeavors to fabricate the vehicle distinguishing our vehicle from other vehicles at national as well as international level. The team has been successful in promoting greener mobility as well as the need to shift to renewable sources of energy. The team has brought many laurels to the institute and is determined to continue it’s legacy.

                      OUR VISION AND GOAL

As members of this proud team, we strive to create technical excellence by fabricating and manufacturing electrically powered vehicles for the development and integration of a renewable source of energy. Petrol and Diesel are set to become obsolete by 2030, hence it’s the need of the hour to look for a renewable source of energy! We hope to be a part of this change, that’s why our goal is to participate in ESVC (Electric Solar Vehicle Championship) 2020, organized by ISIE INDIA. Our goal is short term, but our vision lies in the longest of terms.

SHELL ECO MARATHON –2011

HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMPETITION: Team participated in Shell Eco Marathon for the first time with a Record Mileage of 300km/L

SHELL ECO-MARATHON MANILA, PHILIPPINES - 2014

HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMPETITION: Represented India under the category Diesel Prototype.

EFFI CARS, CHANDIGARH – 2016

HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMPETITION: 2nd Position Nationally

HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMPETITION: 1st Position Nationally

HIGHLIGHT OF THE COMPETITION: Came up with the invention of regenerative braking, which was one of the best inventions in the competition. We secured a National rank of 32 out of the 44 teams that had come to the Competition.

   CURRENT PROJECT

With a rather unextraordinary season in ESVC 2019, we are kicking off the new season by over preparing ourselves. We are leaving no stones unturned with our vision and hard work this time. We picked out our mistakes from the last season and made sure to not repeat them again Improvements since last season -

  • Full project plan in the form of Gantt chart.
  • Proper design/specifications for each part/component.
  • A period of 3 months given for the testing of the final vehicle this time.
  • PVC model of the chassis for visualizing while actually making the chassis

Solar panels and battery: Panels of 400 W (two panels of 200 W each, one in the front and one in the back)

Battery specification:

  • Li-Ion battery pack 80Ah and 48 V
  • Dimensional constraint – 600 x 330 x 175 mm
  • To charge battery, panels take Approximately 10 hours
