"PSS successfully organised Sports Meet 2022"
To offer a break to the daily routine tasks of the academic life, "The Physical Science Society (PSS)" of Department of Physics in Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, organised the Annual Sports meet on 13th November 2022. The event took place in the main ground and gymnasium hall. The mega event commenced with Sansar Chand, Head of PSS, announcing the arrival of the respected guests. Dr. Rohit Mehra inaugurated the event by sharing a few words about how the sports play a vital role in the academic life and holistic development of an individual. Dr. Suneel Dutt, Dr. Vinod Ashokan, Dr. Kiran Singh also played an integral part in making the event a successful one. The sports day marked it's beginning by the cricket match. The first match was between MSc I year and MSc II year. M.Sc. II year won the match and Kanika Sanwal (M.Sc. II year) was announced as the best performer. The final match was between M.Sc. II year and the team constituting faculty and Research Scholars (RS). The match was won by team including faculty and RS. The Man of the Match title was won by Ujjawal Kansotiya (M.Sc.II year). Tug of war took place between team1 : M.Sc. I year and research scholars and team 2 : M.Sc. II year. This was won by team 1. After this the sports track events started which included 100m Boy's Race, Lemon Race (Girls), Relay Race, three leg Race and Badminton matches. Students and Faculties participated in every sports item and enjoyed the whole event. The most awaited Sports event has paved the way to expand the horizon into the sports arena giving opportunities to everyone to display their skills in athletics and leadership. This venture had enabled the students and staff to have fun, enhance social interaction and tests one’s physical capability.
