*************Teacher's Day Celebrations*************
Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September each year to commemorate birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was the former president of India and also known as an amazing teacher of his time. This year "Teacher's Day" was celebrated by Physical Science Society, Department of Physics NITJ, with pomp and show and dedicated this day to the respected and beloved teachers. The function started with lightning of lamp in front of Goddess Saraswati, who is known as symbol of knowledge and peace.
After this some words of wisdom were delivered by Dr. Rohit Mehra ,Dr. Arvind Kumar, Dr. Praveen Malik, Dr. Harleen Dahiya, Dr. Suneel Dutt, Dr. Abhinav Singh ,Dr. Kiran Singh ,Dr. H.M. Mittal, Dr. Shishram Rebari, where they explained the importance of teachers and how teachers are the builders of nation. They also shared their experience of their own teachers and by which qualities they were inspired by, and which qualities they adopted from them.
All the students, faculty of the department including non teaching staff participated in this event. Students of MSc 1, MSc 2 showcased their talents that included speech, poem , guitar playing, harmonica playing and song performances which were admired and enjoyed by everyone present in the function.
Physical Science Society is thankful to all MSc students and research scholars who became helping hands in successful organization and completion of the event.
The event ended with the message that the very first teachers in everyone's life are mother and father who teach us how to speak and stand on our feet. So we should love our parents and express it time to time also. The ultimate aim of every teacher is to make us a good human being so that we can become responsible citizen of the nation and form a better and civilized society to make the world a better place to live.
